I decided that I would write a daily blurb. Just random thoughts and ideas pertaining to my daily happenings.
I find it interesting the reaction from students on campus when they see children. I had to make a trip to campus today and of course Westley is always my sidekick and Erin happen to need me to take Arianna for a short time.
Now I am sure some of you are wondering why I would venture onto a busy campus with two children. My reasoning is I am a mother and I offered to meet a student who purchased a book on ebay from me. I did not find her unfortunately but I did have a interesting trip to campus.
One of the girls on campus working at the counter that sells a slew of candy and sugar drinks along with some fresh popcorn which is what we stopped for. (I needed something to slow the 2 down so they weren't running in to students on the way back to the car.) She commented on how cute Arinna was standing there darning a hot pink fuzzy coat and a clutch purse. I need something to slow the 2 down so they weren't running in to students on the way back to the car. One student trying not be too loud while looking at me said she must be embarrassed walking around here with those two kids. I personally think she should be embarrassed for making such a rude comment. What is wrong with children? or me being on campus with them? On the way back to the car both children holding popcorn bags and munching popcorn, I received a couple more comments about how cute they are and little giggles.
Well I have to head to class and it isn't on main campus thank goodness.

Today I have to work on cleaning my house. Well let's just say it won't be what I would like it to be since the bathroom is still not complete and I do have drywall, tools and things littering my house. Life is to short to worry about that though. This morning I enjoyed the luxury of technology. Dan and I recently got cable box upgrade and we have DVR. I enjoy watching this show called Grey's Anatomy but it happens to be on Thursday evenings while I am in class. So I program the DVR to record the show and then I can enjoy it at my leisure.
Grey's Anatomy is a wonderful show and I enjoy it because it gives you a view into these individuals lives that are so much like our own lives but I mostly enjoy it because it provokes emotion. It makes me think about my life, the person I am and about how sensitive and loving I am. It makes me think about the people I love and care about. It makes me realize that life is too short. Don't get me wrong I do many things that have much meaning but there are the things I worry about that waste my time. Right now I have a 4 year old who is asking me to cuddle with him. That is very important.

Ok so I am not so great at keeping a journal. Althought, I think I deserve credit for trying. Well I have caught Dan and Wes's cold. So I am not feeling very well and I have to go out to take Paige her lunch which I am dreading. I hope it passes soon though.
I have decided that I would focus on one major thought a day. Unfortunately I haven't come up with a great though today. But hopefully it will come to me before the day is through.

Blizzard, Chivarly or the absence of, and Retractable Air Pump Hoses

Well as you can see this has not been so daily. I should change it to just Crystal's Blog but for now I will just type. Okay so we are currently in a blizzard! School has been cancelled and the snow keeps accumulating. 29 years have pasted since the blizzard of 78' and if any of you remember 78' you will remember I was born that year. Now that I have dated myself back to this crazy weather.
Here is my story! Today I had to take Erin out to the store to get diapers and decided I had to stop at the gas station to get gas and put air in my tires. Well whoever invented those retractble hoses did not have women test them and I think I am gonna design a clamp to stop them from wanting to retract in while pumping. Those things have their way with me in ways that make me down right angry. I admit that it is my fault I did not have gloves but that snow was beating me in the face as I got out of the van. As I am getting out of the van a city truck of 3 men pull up right next to me and 2 men get out to go into the gas station. While the one driving was entertained I am sure by the young woman struggling with a air pump hose. I am in a tugging stance pulling at the hose and trying to get it to wrap around the side of the car so that I could squat down to put air in the tires. Well I realized I need more slack and that hose fighting me the whole time I finally stepped on part of it and filled that tire up. Now if I were the guy in the truck I would have gotten out and offered help. I hold the door for the elderly and offer to get things down off high selves. What is this world comming too! I am teaching my children about small acts of kindness and definitely chivalry to my son.
BRING BACK CHIVARY!
